Marketing Logic has assessed the development of various types of business and urban services in the country's largest cities and is publishing a series of rankings showing the availability of various types of services and commerce for city residents.
Analysts at Marketing Logic have assessed the development level of banking infrastructure in Russia's largest cities based on publicly available information and the company’s own data mart. Kazan, Krasnoyarsk and Yekaterinburg are leading in most indicators and the average value. Saint Petersburg, Moscow and Rostov-on-Don are at the bottom of the ranking.
"With all the diversity and sophistication of online services, bank offices and ATMs are an important part of the urban infrastructure and an integral part of life for modern city dwellers. The ranking shows that Kazan is the leader among large cities in Russia as measured by number of residents, while Moscow and Saint Petersburg still have great potential for development. At the same time, it should be borne in mind that the capital cities have the highest share of online transactions and the development of digital and remote services. In the largest Russian cities, there is an average of 1,500 inhabitants per bank office, which is a very comfortable number for potential clients. By comparison, in Europe, there is an average of over 6,000 inhabitants per branch, according to the European Banking Federation. But, of course, the key is the balance, where both customers win (in comfort and accessibility of services) and banks win (in profits sufficient for their development).", - Dmitry Galkin, Managing Partner, Marketing Logic.
